• Assisted the Mayor’s Communications Director, who served as the official spokeswoman for the Mayor and managed all media relations.

• Updated the City’s website to increase transparency from the Office of the Mayor. This included creating biographies for the staff and uploading contact information for the Mayor’s Cabinet.
• Helped draft remarks for the Mayor, ranging from press events to community meetings.
• Attended and helped manage press conferences where the Mayor was speaking.

Oversaw operations of a six-person executive board and a fifty person Event Leadership Team. In this position, my co-chair and I were charged with spreading the American Cancer Society’s mission into everything we do on campus. We engaged the student body in a variety of ways to be involved in our fundraising and advocacy efforts.

Served on the Executive Board of the Relay For Life on campus as the Communications Chair. As Chair, I managed a committee of six students and redefined the responsibilities of this committee. Making sure everyone had an active position, I developed the roles of, Communication Logistics Manager, Special Projects Coordinator, Stewardship Coordinator, Social.

Worked with the Director of Strategic Communication, assisting with internal communications and community relations. Work focused around maintaining a positive image and brand for the Mathile Family Enterprise.
