After a little over a year on the job as the overnight supervisor, I've stepped down! Why, you might ask?Put simply, organizational changes at Whole Foods meant I could no longer fulfill the duties of both receiving the nightly deliveries and effectively supervising the overnight shift. So I proposed a compromise: I resign as supervisor so the position can be posted, continue in my role until a suitable replacement is fielded, then work alongside said replacement to facilitate a seamless transition of leadership.As a result of this extraction, I become the department's primary mid-shift employee, improving workflow and communication between opening and overnight, taking on the responsibilities of preparing the store for the overnight shift, and making sure that overnight is ideally situated to succeed.Plus, I've always preferred working mids. It's the purest of win-win scenarios!

I was one of very few clerks with a deep, abiding love for movies, and the only one who would volunteer to be "official greeter" on weekends: the position required wearing a stupid apron and walking around the store, furnishing customers with recommendations and making sure they were able to find the movies they sought. I couldn't understand why anyone would rather work a register or file the returns, and apparently, that made me a great employee.

In my first summer with the BSA, I was a member of the aquatics staff for both Camp Garrison and Camp Delmont. As Garrison had no aquatic facility, the Cub Scouts went to Delmont by bus during the week. My fellow staffers had less than one day off before we returned to work aquatics for Delmont, which only ran Friday through Sunday. I once had to save a kid from drowning. It wasn't very dramatic.In my second summer with the BSA, I ceased to be on the aquatics staff and thus only worked at Camp Garrison. I was positioned at the themed U.S.S. Cradle of Liberty encampment, the only portion of the camp with joint Area Directors. Following a disagreement between the two, I became the de facto co-Area Director for the ship.
