During my internship at the City Hall of Ellensburg, I developed a diverse range of technical, manual, communication, and leadership skills that have enhanced my capabilities as an IT professional. From managing Active Directory to crimping copper cables and troubleshooting server issues, I gained hands-on experience that solidified my confidence in handling real-world IT tasks. This experience not only confirmed my passion for IT but also shaped my career path toward IT support and network management.Throughout the internship, I discovered strengths such as problem-solving, attention to detail, and adaptability under pressure. However, I also recognized areas for improvement, like being more proactive and enhancing my time management. The advice I received from my peers, particularly about documenting tasks for accountability, significantly impacted my professional approach. In addition, learning to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users further refined my interpersonal skills.Reflecting on the entire experience, I have gained a clearer understanding of how municipal IT systems operate and the critical role technology plays in organizational success.
