Being able to communicate with customers, understand what they're looking for. Being able to up-sale product to go with what the costumer is looking for. (ex: they're looking at shirts, suggest a new pair of pants that are on sale) I have done this personally with a gentleman on Halloween, he wanted to be a biker. He said he was looking for a wallet chain but didn't want to spend the money, I explained that he doesn't need to just use it this one time, and that wallet chains are coming back in style. I said he should use it everyday. The man bought that chain once I told him what my opinion was. I then realized that most people are just looking for that small nudge toward buying something, instead of someone telling them no, they're looking for someone to say "Yes, do it!".

Understanding computers, physical labor, and teamwork is a big part of the GRS role. Helping each other grow and learn to better ourselves on the job. For example, I've trained people right before holidays and if you have worked in retail you understand that is a difficult task to manage because there is so much going on in the store. But you have just have to suck it up and do the job and that is what I have told new associates. Once they realize what they're in for, they understand what their role is. Most of the people I have trained are still doing well now. All of this improved my leadership skill without me even noticing.
