The Skilling Academy’s Cyber Defense Analyst (CDA) Pathway helps full-time federal employees develop their cyber defense skills through training in the baseline knowledge, skills, and abilities of a cyber defense analyst.Cyber defense analysts use defensive measures and information collected from a variety of sources to identify, analyze, and report events that occur or might occur within the network to protect information, information systems, and networks from threats. The CDA Pathway will provide students with foundational cybersecurity knowledge focused on using defensive measures to protect information, information systems, and networks from threats. Some of the topics students will be exposed to include the following:Basic Network and Protocol AnalysisIdentifying Common Hacker Techniques, Methods, and VectorsConcepts of Intelligence-Based Computer Network DefenseIncident Detection Response and HandlingThrough the CDA Pathway, students will begin to develop the skills required to utilize data gathered from a diverse set of cyber defense tools and analyze events within their environment to mitigate potential cyber threats.

* Occasionally tasked with accumulated traveling numbers and would be tasked with data entry into an excel database spreadsheet.* Determined, processed, and conducted follows-up on a wide variety of complicated screening actions in one or more specialty areas which require carrying out numerous different and unrelated procedures.* Researched standard operating procedures and made adjustments involving complicated screening problems.* Audited and made pay adjustments involving a variety of complicated pay problems related to time sheets to correct data entries.* Audit of several months of pay history to correct vacation leave erroneously charged.* Provided customer service in person to passengers. * Completed written correspondence to supervisors and written witness statements to federal investigators related to prohibited items found in sterile areas. * Currently Network Intelligence Officer for TSA, Duties include responding to organizational requirements that include but are not limited to the following. * Collect data and information, decode data, statements then collate and analyze. * Compile intelligence information using briefings, reports and other methods. * Research the accuracy of data collected and ensure the reliability of sources. * Conduct threat and risk assessments and develop responses to identified risks. * Provide a report to federal employees on how to contain, manage and mitigate threats.
