Lithia is a nationwide owner and operator of car dealerships in the United States, they recently purchased MINI, BMW, and Mercedes from Rasmussen in Portland and expanded MINI to have it’s own location separate from BMW. Upon this expansion they had a need for a larger staff. I began working here as a sales and service attendant with the desire to move up as quickly as possible in the company. My daily duties include making sure that the service area and shop are in a clean and working order, washing and vacuuming customer’s vehicles that are in for service, as well as making sure that customers are able to make it to work, or back home while their vehicle is in for service through our courtesy shuttle program. I have received a lot of praise for my hard work and determination that I have brought to the team; and have been faced with all sorts of new challenges and experiences daily while working with MINI’s service team.

Tyfone (www.tyfone.com) is an emerging stage company developing technologies for the mobility industry in both security and financial transactions. At Tyfone I had a vast array of tasks from reviewing and tracking legal documents for filing to filming a promotional video that is still being used on YouTube today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rJ6DdIZTkM. This was my first corporate position where I was able to exercise my skill from in front of the computer rather than selling it to a consumer. I had to quickly learn to adapt to the daily lifestyle of not being micromanaged and learn to budget my time wisely and efficiently. There are many skills I have taken away from Tyfone that I feel will benefit me in many of my jobs in the future.

At TD Curran Inc. I applied two of my most prominent professional skills to date: My expertise in technology, and my ability to communicate and educate consumers. At TD Curran I had the opportunity to not only sell an amazing product which I know inside and out, but I also was given the opportunity to teach others how to use these products and apply them to their daily lives in one on one private lessons. These lessons would consist of anything from Mac basics, photography, Office/iWork basics, networking, as well as design (Adobe Creative Suite) techniques. So not only am I skilled in both production and post production of my work, but I also have the patience and communication skills to work and collaborate with other individuals on a variety of levels. TD Curran was also a Verizon Wireless indirect dealer. I was the lead Verizon consultant in our store. I handled everything from new contracts, returns, exchanges, upgrades, and contract changes. Our owner sent me to all the Verizon offsite trainings and conferences.

Instant Imprints is where I discovered my passion for graphic design which eventually lead to me pursuing a path in photography. Here I learned the basics of many fundamental pieces of design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Correl Draw, and InDesign. My primary duties were to assist in the production of many promotional items: screen printed t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags etc, embroidered items, and even cadcut vinyl decals.
