About Barbara Barry

I’m a marketing analytics professional, with over 20 years in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. I am currently a Client Insights Consultant for IRI, one of the original innovators in big data. IRI integrates otherwise disconnected sales, purchase, media, social, causal and loyalty data to help clients grow their businesses.Prior to this, I managed the analytics for the Consumer Engagement team at Kimberly-Clark. Our team was responsible for the interactions with consumers contacting us via phone, email, letter, chat and social media. The “conversations” with consumers brought a wealth of information. From there I extracted stories and trends, and provided insights to the brand teams on things of concern to our consumers, like absorbency, fit and package design. My experience prior to K-C was in progressive roles with The Nielsen Company where I helped my clients grasp and interpret the “why behind the buy,” primarily using consumer panel data. The panel allowed me to aggregate and analyze longitudinal views of individual household purchase behavior, demographics and psycho-graphics. I’m probably best known for my ability to share this knowledge with others through coaching and training.At this time, I am seeking a new analytics opportunity.
