– Managed the private fleet. Led a team of 25 drivers in Americus, Georgia and Vicksburg, Mississippi.– Maintained annual budget of $3M+, controlled costs, submitted scheduling, and dispatched drivers. Managed driver qualification files and leased tractor contracts, negotiated trailer purchase and lease-rental agreements, and ensured transit needs were met per requirements of Cooper’s facilities and customers. – Coordinated needs among shipping, receiving, purchasing, customer service, shipment planning, distribution replenishment planning, warehouse management, traffic management, and our customers. – Created monthly reports for fleets which were more intelligible, detailed, and accurate than existing documents.– Improved driver schedule to maximize equipment utilization and improve manpower positioning. Increased miles driven and reduced cost per mile, spreading fixed cost.– Negotiated and approved union driver contracts.– Increased miles driven by Americus fleet by 26% and reduced cost per mile 17%, saving Cooper Lighting $100K+ over a two-year period. Increased Vicksburg fleet miles driven by 18% and reduced cost per mile by 4%. – Solicited, obtained, and managed backhaul program generating a savings of $1M in 1998 and 1999.
