Customer Care Advisor
My key responsibilities included:• Advising customers of the appropriate troubleshooting when their items are not working to the expected standard or if they do not work at all.• Liaising with suppliers to arrange collections, chase backorder item due dates and reporting picking errors.• Issuing refunds and contacting customers regarding their returns if we do not receive back the correct items, or we do not receive the items back in the expected condition.• Delegating tasks amongst the customer service team.Skills I have learnt:• Teamworking – I have spoken to colleagues to deal with certain situations, offering solutions to others when we face problems and also speak to other colleagues to call on their experience if I am unsure on how to tackle a situation to ensure the best service is given to all of our customers.• Negotiation skills – when a customer sends a return back and the items are sent back in poor condition, we have to advise them that we cannot accept the item for a refund due to being unable to resell the items. Most of the time the customer accepts this, but when they are unhappy, we are able to use our discretion to ensure the customer feels we have offered them a sensible solution and is left happy with the service provided.
Vice President Of Mls Law Society
I am the Vice President for MLS' Law Society for the academic year 2020-2021.I will be attending weekly meetings with the other members of the committee, completing weekly work to organise and plan for events such as guest speakers, both from in and outside of the legal profession and also chairing meetings in the President's absence. By being given the opportunity of this role, this will allow me to develop the following skills:- Teamwork: working as a team with the rest of the committee to ensure that the Society runs smoothly and we are all kept in the loop with events we have planned- Communication: by contacting potential guest speakers, I will further develop my skills of communicating in a polite and professional manner- Organisational Skills: I will learn to find a balance for completing work for university, the Law Society, working part-time at my job as well as having spare time. By finding that right balance, I will be able to complete all tasks to the best of my ability.- Most of all, this will improve my overall confidence in my abilities.
Student Course Representative
My tasks as a course representative include speaking to my peers on my course and asking them for feedback such as how the course can be improved, whether there is anything they enjoy or anything they think could be changed. I also actively engage with members of staff to ask for their views on issues such as racial inequality to see how this can be improved to ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable at the university. This has allowed me to develop my communication skills by passing feedback to staff, as well as learning how to communicate in a professional manner with lecturers. It has also allowed me to develop my confidence by speaking to students and staff that I would not usually speak to. Not only this, but it has also allowed me to develop empathy and understanding for students who are struggling or feel as though improvements could be made in certain areas.
Front Desk Receptionist
My key responsibilities included:• Banqueting Assistant: following a briefing plan to set up function rooms and serving up to 300 covers per room.• Restaurant Host: ensuring all customer enquiries and complaints were dealt with using a consistent approach, quickly and effectively, regardless of their manner.• Receptionist: greeting guests with warmth and enthusiasm when they come to the reception desk.• Financial reconciliation at the end of each shift, which included counting the safe and ensuring the banking records were correct for the day.• Supporting the sales and reservations team by redirecting calls to them as appropriate whilst also entering their sales into our system.Skills I have learnt:• Working accurately and quickly, whilst remaining calm with difficult customers.• Problem solving skills by ensuring any issues customers faced were dealt with promptly and effectively.I also won the awards of Hallmark Superstar (2018), Best Customer Service Award (2017) and received rewards for being a great team player (2016, 2017, 2018) during my employment.
