• Cultivated and maintained strong relationships with state and local government leaders to create strong communities, influence policy, and drive innovative solutions.• Managed standing committee comprised of 35 finance professionals and external consultants charged with developing association best practices and policies. Developed projects, assigned responsibilities, monitored timeliness of work products, reviewed content, and ensured accountability of results. • Identified and promoted successful partnerships with key stakeholders in the government, non-profit, labor, and business communities, as well as other external interests that advanced the association’s vision and priorities.• Collaborated across the association and with external alliances to develop and implement winning strategies to advance association’s federal advocacy goals on issues relating to public pensions, health care, taxes, and telecommunications. • Developed and facilitated multicultural outreach activities of association’s Black Caucus and Women’s Public Finance Network, including developing content of programs, fundraising, and managing budget for group conference events. • Researched and wrote best practices and other publications on retirement and income security, pensions, health care, taxation, budget initiatives, broadband deployment, rights-of-way management, and zoning, used as models of excellence in government management by state, local, and industry leaders nationwide.• Authored legislative updates, news articles, fact sheets, and press releases updating membership on priority legislative, regulatory, and legal matters. Wrote a column in association’s bimonthly magazine, the Government Finance Review, informing 18,000 members about significant national issues and their impact on state and local governments.• Created annual conference programming for 2,500+ attendees nationwide, including developing session and presentation content, and securing speakers.
