At Illinois State University I had the opportunity to assist in the facilitation of an Introduction to Public Relations course with 160 enrolled undergraduate students. This role allowed me to work hand in hand with the professor to prepare presentations, present lessons, schedule guest speakers, and evaluate student performance. I taught curriculum which introduced topics such as audience evaluation, social media analytics, public relations goals, strategies and tactics, as well as media relations and the aspects encompassed in a public relations campaign to freshman and sophomore. KEY ACHIEVEMENT: ● Increased student course passing rates by 12% over previous semester.

Involvement in the student government association allowed me to grow as a leader among my peers. With specific concentration on bridging the gap between student athletes and general students, I coordinated with the athletic board to put on programs and events that would bring together the student population. I was also a member of Academic Senate comprised of 25 professors and administrators and 30 student senators. This organization served to identify campus issues, develop solutions to the problems, and report back to the president of the university. KEY ACHIEVEMENT: ● Increased attendance at sporting events by 30% through creation of awareness campaigns, targeted community initiatives, and creation of improved student transportation systems.

Illinois State University

As a senior intern, I led a team of 10 fellow student interns in our efforts to coordinate events for the School of Communication. From brainstorming events and arranging logistics, to executing the event, I took on all event management functions.Most notably, I led our team through event coordination for the annual COM Week including high profile panel discussions, keynote speakers, and enrichment opportunities. KEY ACHIEVEMENT: ● Increased attendance of major fundraiser by 122% (from 900 in 2014 to 2000 in 2015).

Whereas many other positons and internships I have held required the need to coordinate with media, working with The Drive 97.1 has allowed me to develop greater insight into processes media outlets themselves have. In this role my objectives are to grow listener engagement, increase brand awareness, and design impactful marketing deliverables. To achieve these objectives I plan and execute entertainment events in coordination with the promotions manager, director of sales, radio personnel, and clients. KEY ACHIEVEMENT: ● Created and carried out over 60 successful promotional events in 2016.

As a nonprofit organization Easter Seals relies heavily on individual and corporate donor contributions. As a member of the marketing team, I was tasked with developing and publicizing activities such as social media management, blogging, and community outreach that would enhance awareness of the organization and in turn, increase donations.
