As an intern at Healthy Outcomes From Positive Experiences (HOPE), I worked to qualify data from 100 articles on civic and social engagement in childhood to gain information on its effect on mental and physical health outcomes in adolescence, utilizing this data to create a literature review. At the end of this experience, I presented my findings during the Building Diversity in Biomedical Sciences Symposium in August 2021.In Summer 2022, I continued to learn and grow with HOPE, working with a team of 8 other individuals. I collaborated in creating the Hope Innovation Network (HIN), a training course meant for clinicians and companies to adapt the HOPE framework into their forms, policies, and patient approaches.

I worked with mouse models of infantile spasms practicing perfusion, cryosectioning, and immunohistochemistry to analyze adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) conditional gene knockout mice and how the knockout affects the Wnt/B-Catenin signaling pathway known to have implications for infantile spasms as well as autism spectrum disorder.- Performed perfusion, cryosectioning, IHC, and PCR on 100s of APC cKO and DREADD mice models of Infantile Spasms.- Analyzed results of IHC and PCR using imaging methods to quantify differences in interneuron development
