These sights included open and occluded red dot sights as well as active and passive magnified scopes for handguns, rifles and heavy machine guns.Mark's position at Surefire allowed him to evaluate the soldier level equipment developed to support the 10 year war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mark utilized his intimate knowledge of the equipment used in the recent conflicts, his hands on experience of low light training and most importantly the feedback from experienced soldiers, SOF, EOD, SWAT, and Medics to conceive of and prototype new and improved devices. The goal was to improve their equipment, make them more effective in their tasks while still maintaining situational awareness.The advanced technology group included industrial design, optical, mechanical, electrical and laser engineers as well as weapon armors and low light trainers.
