Worked with Microsoft Architects and Program Managers to develop areas of technology that benefited both EMC and Microsoft (SQL Sever Group, Cluster Server Group, Filesystems Group). Researched and advised solutions for file system and device management issues. Developed technology to detect data corruption occurring anywhere in the IO stack, patent pending. Designed and implemented a kernel-mode driver to simulate an Ethernet connection, providing a failover network path through the EMC SAN in case of internet failure.
Developed custom device drivers, kernel-mode software, memory management libraries, and emulation software for the MISEM ultrasound machine. Served as the consulting expert for all Windows NT system-level software.
Implemented new features for SourceSafe, Microsoft’s source code control application. Added support for double-byte character sets; updated user interface for consistent look and feel; and wrote recursive algorithm to find errors in the proprietary database, fix the errors, and upgrade the database to a new format.
