You sit on the mountain top looking across the horizon at the beautiful predawn colors that fill the sky, marking a new day with an array of possibilities. Looking down you find your desk full of applications but which candidate will bring that new dawn you are searching for? While working for Vacasa, a vacation rental company, I took on the task of scheduling the cleanings for all 200+ vacation homes in Sunriver, Oregon. My ability to carefully balance work loads resulted in the entire team entrusting me with this task despite it not being a part of my specific job duties. I would often be asked to help resolve any day of problems that would result from staff call outs or exceptionally dirty homes, creating an even more complicated puzzle when working on a very tight schedule. I would do all of this while continuing to answer phones and caring for all of our guests’ needs. Creating schedules, problem solving, and working behind the scenes to coordinate all the details for a smooth operation have been a passion of mine throughout many different job positions. While Logistics Manager at North Carolina Outward Bound School I worked hard to provide all necessary resources for the daily needs of up to 180 students expeditioning in the wilderness at one time. Even back to my early days working summer camps I enjoyed the hours it would take to schedule all of the campers for their desired weekly activities. I found the focus and problem solving needed to ensure that each camper got all of their top activity picks truly rewarding.I also have the skill set of an experienced manager. As Gym Manager for Inner Peaks Climbing in Charlotte, NC I was responsible for every facet of running their Crown Point gym, from staff training to building maintenance. As Logistics Manager at the North Carolina Outward Bound School I led my team to successfully provide over 100 wilderness expedition courses with their unique gear, food, and transportation needs. Through precise organization, advanced planning, creative thinking, and personal investment in my staff I was able lead these teams to success. These are but a few examples of my extensive experiences working with a variety of individuals, creating positive work environments, coordinating and scheduling tasks, and innovating new processes. Pair these skills with the soft skills I have developed through years of customer service work and my B.S. in Recreation Management with Minors in General Business and Non-Profit Management and I become an integral asset to your team, the light on your horizon of possibilities.
