Alhumdulilah, I went down in the Chicago History Museum as the first Gen Z elected official in the United States, and currently serve on D73.5's Board of Education — the school district I attended. I have spoken in front of crowds ranging from just 10, to 15,000 about themes ranging from: leadership, diversity/inclusion, and my story of failure and resilience. I ran to be a representative of the 13th District on Cook County Board of Commissioners and ended up with 13,500 votes. My campaign garnered national attention from outlets such as: Forbes, Bloomberg, The Hill, TIME Magazine, Glamour Magazine, Teen Vogue, Seventeen Magazine, Scholastic magazine, The New York Times Upfront, VICE, Bustle, MIC Media, and MTV News, to name a few.I am Glamour Magazine's College Woman of the Year, was awarded The Champion Award from UN Women, an organization built under the United Nations, am on the National 22 Under 22 Most Inspiring Woman list, Seventeen Magazine's Voice of the Year, and Internally known as CosmoGirl’s Change-maker of the Year, and the NAACP’s Rising Star Awardee.I am a graduate from DePaul University with experience in leadership and public speaking, specifically geared towards race and equity. I majored in Management Information Systems with a double minor in Community Service Studies and Public Policy Studies. I am currently a MBA Candidate at Kellogg School of Management. In my free time, I enjoy baking sweet treats (it's hard to mess up sugar), developing my makeup skills and learning about all things beauty.Through my volunteer work with countless non-profit organizations, as both an executive board member and volunteer, I strive to better society by helping end poverty, hunger and institutional racism.
