Millions of Americans are unemployed and advanced technology and automation are changing the very nature of work, Markle’s priority is advancing solutions toward a labor market that will enable workers in America to move into good jobs in the digital economy. The Rework America State Network, formed in 2018, was a non-partisan collaboration with 30 state governors and the mayor of the District of Columbia working to unlock economic mobility for all American workers. The State Network provided a forum for governors and their senior teams to share innovative workforce practices, tools, data, and resources to transform the labor market at a scale and pace not possible through individual state actions. In turn, member states brought a commitment from the governor and senior state leaders to work towards expanding economic security and mobility for all, particularly for populations with the least economic power.In 2020, a larger nationwide collaboration formed, the Rework America Alliance, to enable unemployed and low wage workers to emerge from the public health and economic crisis. The Rework America Alliance is a collaboration of 35+ private and non-profit partners working to build and deploy the backbone for the US education and upskilling system. The aim is to help millions of job seekers, regardless of formal education move into good jobs in the digital economy by accelerating the development of an effective system of training aligned to jobs employers will need to fill. This collaboration builds on Markle’s previous work incubated at Skillful Colorado. Leadership roles included oversight of Skillful, Rework America State Network, Rework America Alliance digital backbone, and philanthropic strategy.

Denver Zoo is the most popular cultural attraction in Colorado with over 2.44 million visitors a year. The President/CEO employs over 900 people, approximately 700 volunteers as well as over 4,300 wild animals, as well as the zoo's robust international conservation program which has had 600+ projects in 62 countries across all seven continents. The CEO oversees animal care, welfare, health, conservation, education, safety, finance, HR, IT, regulatory compliance, environmental enrichment, marketing, fundraising, government relations and guest services.
