This definitely forced to me to become more independent in my problem solving.In October the site stack changed from Backbone to React (server-side and client-side). This meant completely rebuilding the Slideshow from the ground up, and provided the opportunity to learn an entirely new framework. Show less

Full time front-end engineer on a number of projects including Delicious.com, and MixBit.com. Both these sites are single-page apps, so a large proportion of the app logic is on the front-end. The Javascript frameworks involved were Backbone (Chaplin), and Angular.

I was hired as a summer intern at AVOS, starting work the day after my last exam. I worked on the frontend of Delicious.com as it went though a complete redesign and rebuild. I was exposed to one page apps, and a number of javascript frameworks and libraries including Backbone, Underscore, Handlebars, Chaplin, and others. I worked closely with the designer in the NZ office and was able to pick up a lot of useful UX skills.
