Big Thought is a pioneering education and youth development organization based in Dallas, dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for youth in communities rich in greatness, but without the resources necessary to maximize it. Through innovative programs and partnerships, Big Thought empowers young people to develop 21st-century skills essential for imagining and creating their best lives and world. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning, Big Thought equips youth to succeed in a rapidly changing society and contribute positively to their own lives and their communities. By using programs, learning ecosystems, and its Big Thought Institute, we seek to create systemic change affecting not just youth in the programs, but including those we will never meet.

Primarily responsible for fund development to support the Dallas Independent School District. Established in 2006, the mission of the Dallas Education Foundation is to unite community and resources for excellence in DISD. The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors that works in collaboration with the Superintendent to focus development efforts toward providing the best quality education for all students attending Dallas ISD.

Leads strategic planning to identify and capitalize on existing service opportunities and business development to enter and grow new markets. Coordinates sales and corporate/community partnership development. Coordinates integrated marketing strategies to increase brand equity and awareness. Leads In-School Programs division, the service that develops active partnerships with school districts and community organizations to implement mentoring and tutoring programs on school campuses during school hours.

Created a management and training system to deliver in-school tutoring and mentoring services to more than 60 schools and over 10,000 students throughout the Dallas Independent School District.Hired and trained team of 6 Area Coordinators, each responsible for coordinating tutoring programs 8 – 10 schools.Managed a budget of $700,000 in federal grant funding.Created system of projecting tutoring goals based on the district allocation, tutor placement, and tutoring hours accrued.Implemented a situational leadership model based on the strengths of Area Coordinators using Gallup’s Strength Finders 2.0.
