Analyzes orders for highly specialized and unusual engineering content requirements determining suitability of specifications for intended service. Prepares documentation for engineering release, ensure accurate content. Draws and/or accesses frame layouts using Pro-E. Assists dealers and sales departments in developing required information for quotes and orders. Coordinates information with design, bill of material, materials, production, and field service departments. Maintains and updates applicable files and records.

With minimum supervision, develop designs of truck components that require engineering skill and knowledge of truck regulations, operating, service, and performance environments to meet schedule quality, performance, cost, weight, and reliability requirements. Modify current designs to improve cost, reliability and functionality. Work with plants and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure new designs meet design for Manufacturability/Assembly criteria. Work cross-functionally with other groups to meet service, functional, safety and durability requirements for new and modified designs. Project management/scope is routine or well-defined. May be required to review and check work of junior personnel. Support and/or lead smaller projects using Product Creation Process.

Design/create 3-D models & engineering drawings for new product (OEM & Direct Replacement parts. Revise 3D models and engineering drawings for existing products. Research, develop new concepts and test prototypes. Evaluate new products, make correction and request changes. Assist in resolving product related customer complains. Provide technical data to QC/QA department for inspection purposes. Assist manufacturing department with rework reduction and control
