-Developed the concept note and oversaw the implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and of anMHPSS training intervention aimed at enhancing the capacity of drought-affected Self-Help Groups(SHGs) in peer support, emotional well-being, and stress management- Prepared the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy and action plan for a five-year, £25million Durable Solutions Programme, named Danwadaag, with the objective of integrating Mental Healthand Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Protection components into theprogramme to ensure comprehensive and inclusive support)- Conducted a large-scale household survey to assess displacement-related vulnerabilities and stressors among four different IDP sites in Somalia

Main achievements:- Prepared a research concept note and carried out 20+ key informant interviews about best practices and barriers in MHPSS programming in East Africa to inform Somalia's Drought Response Plan- Developed a research concept note to carry out real-time research on positive deviants, social connectedness and psychosocial outcomes to inform Somalia's drought response planning, supervising the design, collection and analysis of 40+ KIIs, 30+ FGDs and ~800 household field surveys- Led the development, training and execution of quantitative and qualitative research tools- Designed a data literacy crash course for humanitarian professionals and facilitated in-person training sessions- Provided advisory services for a panel field study with 3,000+ Somali households to map out prevalent resilience capacities, including the preparation of the following documents: research proposal, evaluation design, pre-analysis plan, ethical approval, research budget and survey protocol

Main achievements: - Co-led the design, implementation, and analysis of a mixed-method research project in five Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps in Somalia to learn about information consumption patterns among IDP youth groups (report accessible at this link: https://www.nrc.no/resources/reports/empowering-youth-through-information/- Acted as Team Leader for an academic article which tracked the prevalence of suspected C-19 symptoms among remote populations in Somalia. Preliminary results underway and can be accessed here: https://www.nrc.no/globalassets/pdf/evaluations/midline-evaluation-summary/brcis-midline-evaluation.pdf- Developed a dozen of protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for field and phone surveys data, data protection, data processing, etc. and trained the M&E and research staff of 12+ partner organizations- Contributed to the development of quality benchmark guidance documents to support program managers in designing evidence-based interventions in Governance, Livelihoods, WASH, H&N, Community Engagement, etc.

Main achievements:- Provided statistical services & data analytics for a flagship project entitled ‘Governametrics’ to improve the measurement framework of SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions- Served as a research assistant to an academic article on accountability, censorship, and media freedom, contributing to the development and analysis of a dataset covering 10,000+ censorship events (see this link: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3238400)- Co-authored a paper titled 'Who Censors What, When and Why? Findings from aNew Event Dataset of Censorship'. Currently in publication.- Prepared a non-technical policy brief on the manipulation of governance data to provide governance experts a reference tool to assess the validity and reliability of official SDG-reports from UN Member States- Cleaned, and analyzed a cross-country media survey from South Sudan, Tanzania, South Africa, and Bangladesh to investigate the mechanisms of media censorship and media reporting on corruption - Conducted a review of the literature in political science and economics, summarizing the latest findings on corruption, accountability, media freedom and government transparency
