I have 14 years working in various capacities within the K-12 system. I am a collaborative educator who is dedicated to professional growth, and I'm always looking for opportunities to improve practices within the system. I am committed to ensuring equity in education and establishing partnerships with colleagues, families, and other community stakeholders. I was chosen by my colleagues to be Teacher of the Year at Rawlings Elementary during the 2016-2017 school year. At Rawlings, I served as coach for the school's Math Olympiad team and Robotics teams in addition to fulfilling my duties as ESE teacher. During my time at Rawlings, the school increased two letter grades, in part because of my commitment to collaboration with colleague and my contributions toward providing tier 3 interventions and special education services for students.Since becoming an ESE Staffing Specialist in 2018, I have worked with teams at fourteen public schools in Alachua County, where I have demonstrated the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I facilitate a Staffing Specialist PLC to a foster a culture of professional learning and build continuity within my team and regularly work with people from across the district to provide professional development opportunities to teachers, counselors, and other school personnel.
