Since 2000 to 2014, I have published 17 journal papers and at least 38 conference papers. My researches are quite diverse, including both computational and experimental fluid dynamics, digital signal processing, algorithm design and developing embedded systems, wind energy(MPPT/GPRS), flow calibration ansd testing, CFRP/GFRP product production, fluidic mechanical device design, ISO 17025 quality system. Some of them are summarized below.(1)Wind EnergyIn this study, the perturbation and observation searching control was applied to a lab-made vertical axis wind turbine to enable the wind turbine performs at around its optimal point. The MPPT control algorithm was fulfilled by an ARM 7 (saying MCU). On the other hand, a GPRS based monitoring system was also built for the vertical axis wind turbine. With this system, one can easily monitor the status of the wind turbine, like its output voltage, rotation speed, and power, from a far distant place.(2)Digital Signal Processing and embedded SystemI am quite familiar with the techniques of signal processing, as well as DSP and MCU chips, like TI C67XX and ARM 7. The techniques include fundamental operation of digital signals, FIR, IIR, SPLL, FFT, wavelet, mode decomposition, and etc. With these techniques I have, it is not difficult for me to develop any embedded systems. I have developed some algorithms for vortex flowmeters to let them intelligent and for noise reduction in speech signals.(3)Fluid DynamicsFluid Dynamics was my first specialty. I am familiar with both experimental and computational methods. The research topics I have done before include vortex shedding, micro nozzle flow, vortex stretching, pipe flow and etc.Besides, I love team work. I love doing system integration.

The laboratory owns two sets of flow calibration and testing system, which employ sonic nozzles as standard meters. The volume flow rates for the two systems range from 10 to 2.4104 m3/hr and 0.012 to 74 m3/hr at the atmospheric pressure, respectively. The system uncertainties for the two standard systems are ±0.34% and ±0.20%, respectively. FML works in compliance with ISO 17025, certified by TAF. Currently, the laboratory provides the services of flowmeter calibration, testing and pattern approval of diaphragm gas meter.
