Current business and management undergraduate, looking to establish career in the HR industry.

During the Paralympic games I was picking up where I left off, selling in kiosk contemporary goods to different consumers. I had a team of 6 individuals, our task was to keep every customer satisfied in the best possible way we could. During my time, there were some problems, some of the members of staff that worked under me were like me inexperienced in cash handseling and selling to consumers, in likeness I devised a plan to get the majority of the 6 to come into work as early as possible and demonstrate to them in a role play the methods of card exchange and using the cashier. As a result they became very familiar and as it was a new workforce from the Olympic team gained my trust as well as me gaining there’s it was a very good experience.

Being part of the Olympic Games was an honour in itself, during the games I acted as a team leader in a kiosk specialising in bottles and beers, this concession stand clearly had some problems along the way. The sales of 3 beers maximum to each individual caused aggravation especially in the Swedish guests who were quite unhappy with the low service of alcohol, as team leader I used problem solving skills and knowledge given to me by the supervisors to give advice on how I could serve them 3 each not 3 between all. The role overall was a great experience, the overall atmosphere was the most rewarding.

During my time in School I took part in a work experience task for Regency Ltd. This company specialised in, blueprint designs for building manufacturers. My task was to do the simple day to day office tasks, I learning how to fax, photocopy on large A0 paper. I was introduced to the Auto cad computer software which was used to design the buildings, though it was quite difficult at first I began to get the knack of it in the last few weeks copying old blueprint materials that have previously been sent.

Being my first job and self-employed, my relevant experience was quickly being able to adjust myself to a new experience, learning about tax refunds and HMRC in general. Being able to communicate with new individuals and learn from highly experienced individuals, settling in to an area I was unaccustomed to was my main success.Additional SkillsPublic Speaking: During my time at university I have been able to perform different presentations to a wider group of people.Tuition: in school I had the opportunity to tutor a young Romanian, how to read books in the English language, it was successful and he let me know about his improvements every week, which was rewarding.Young enterprise scheme:During my time in sixth form I took part in the young enterprise scheme, which consisted of grouping together a team of 5 people to retail there product to a group of consumers in different areas. The first task was to conduct some market research around the area of the school; we then found that webcams had a great popularity in the market. The products where then sold around two market stalls these were, Ilford and Stratford. In turn we had some success managing to make £100 profit on the money we spent; the profit was then kept by each individual.
