We are up against the clock to try to outpace today’s social challenges—and I’ve spent 30 years working with people and ideas to do just that. I’m drawn to solving the problems that matter, with a deep belief that philanthropy, social innovation, impact investing and purposeful businesses can help us create the caring society we all envision. I get involved in strategy, facilitation, convening sectors and people, writing, research and leadership support.In the late 90s, I was one of the pioneers shaping the UK's online giving space, developing platforms for one-off and payroll donations. I was also part of the teams behind several social sector digital firsts—Guidestar, Community Channel TV, CharityNet, eBay for Charity. These innovations laid the foundation for much of today’s tech-for-good ecosystem.My work is about partnering with overwhelmed or over-committed leaders to simplify complex challenges. As a co-pilot, I lighten the load, providing clarity and focus while staying relentlessly curious and collaborative. Sometimes that means stripping the problem back to its core, which is both challenging and liberating. I believe in Ann Mei Chang’s 'lean impact' approach—think big, start small, and continuously improve through feedback.In 2022, I co-authored the first UK report on barriers and opportunities in impact investing, viewed through the eyes of private individuals and family offices. I’ve raised funds across both startup and nonprofit sectors, mentored multiple social enterprises, and co-founded Mishi—a music therapy app designed for wellbeing, offering free access to those in need.My experience spans philanthropy, social innovation, tech-for-good, traveltech, publishing, and more, but my heart is in catalysing social change at pace. I’m excited about what the 4th industrial revolution holds and determined to play a responsible part in technology as a force for good and for the commons.
