I founded Climate Ride, a nonprofit organization established to change lives through sport and drive philanthropic impact for the sustainability movement. Started as a five-day bike ride from NYC to DC in 2008, Climate Ride has grown into an idea catalyst and leading funder of the environmental and active transportation movement. At Climate Ride we take the seemingly insurmountable challenge of our planet’s future and bring it to a personal level. Climate Ride now produces events around the world—charitable bike rides, running trips and hiking trips—that transform lives and fund important initiatives critical to a sustainable future. Participants complete a multi-day sporting event while raising money for environmental causes. They share in an experience that fosters inspiring conversations and connections. From supporting conservation efforts in our national parks to protected bike lanes in our nation’s cities, Climate Ride’s impact is felt across many channels. Climate Ride has delivered $7 million+ in grants to 100 leading environmental, conservation, and active transportation nonprofit organizations. Climate Ride speakers and participants have included top sustainability thinkers, eco-heroes, scientists, and policy experts.Climate Ride’s events include cycling, running, and hiking events around the world, including the Green Fondo weekender series, the Virtual Climate Rise, Bears Ears National Monument Ride, Climate Run in Oregon, Death Valley National Park Ride, Bhutan Ride, California Ride, Glacier National Park Ride, Iceland Ride, Glacier Montana Hike, NYC to DC Ride, and Nova Scotia Ride. Climate Ride also offers an endurance program called Independent Challenges, which empowers people to design their own events for the cause.
