This program aims to enhance the livability, safety, and aesthetics of Austin’s downtown streets by creating “streets for people”.

As an Environmental Program Coordinator, Caitlin worked on a variety of initiatives around climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience related to green building, green infrastructure, and biophilic cities. She considers both the environmental and human impacts of nature-based solutions to be an essential part of the urban fabric and is passionate about bringing these benefits to communities.

As an Urban Designer in the Austin office of Perkins+Will, Caitlin applied the experience she gained through her work in the landscape architecture and urban design fields to campuses and communities of innovation throughout the country. Her inspiration lies in the power of a shared vision and strong framework to provide the foundation of a great place, adding in elements of placemaking and urban design to make it really come alive. Through this, Caitlin helps her clients to maximize the potential of their land and add value to development projects through thoughtful planning and design. Her projects included UC Davis Aggie Square in Sacramento, California; The Medical Center of the Americas in El Paso, Texas; NeoCity in Osceola County, Florida; The Oklahoma City Innovation District and Capitol Environs in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and the Churchill Business and Technology Park in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

At Norris Design Caitlin concentrated on planned communities, mixed use, and urban infill projects throughout the Austin metro area. As a Senior Associate she was responsible for spearheading the design process for her projects as well as managing the design team, project budgets, and client interaction. Her primary effort in this position has been focused on The Grove at Shoal Creek, acting as the land planner and an integral member of the entitlements team.

In this role, Caitlin gained experience in a variety of industry fields with a concentration on multi-family projects and planned communities. She took projects from the conceptual design phase through construction administration. She also began specializing in entitlements and managing development projects through zoning processes, including design team coordination and community outreach. Her projects were mainly located in Colorado, as well as some international locations.

With DHGA, Caitlin managed the drafting and publication of The Green Industries Data Toolbox, a technical guide for professionals across the design and construction industry. The bulk of her work included conducting research and interviews, compiling information, creating and editing content, book layout and composition, and overseeing production of the publication.

Golden, Co (Now Southern Pines, Nc)

As an intern, Caitlin worked closely with the CEO and head architectural designer and assisted with all facets of the design process for equestrian architecture and site planning projects. She collaborated with a web designer to overhaul the firm’s website, inventoried their built work, conducted product research, and developed conceptual site plans for various scale projects.
