I am a former teacher pivoting into a new field. I’ve traveled all over, from my hometown in Wisconsin to college in New Orleans, study abroad in London to teaching abroad in Japan. I’ve adjusted to a lot of new places and challenging situations, and now I’m starting a long-term career in Chicago.I’ve got a lot of experience as a fish out of water. I’m comfortable being uncomfortable. What I don’t know, I learn. I didn’t understand the differences between the UK and US grading systems, so I worked with my professors until I was able to write better essays by their standards. My coworkers in Japan spoke little English, so I studied hard and passed the intermediate level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. When my indie game studio needed someone to draw art assets, I learned how to make tiles and sprites from scratch.I know I can succeed at something new because I’ve done it before.
