I am a sustainability professional currently working in the Portland, OR area. My current work at a nonprofit transportation management association (TMA) focuses on reducing drive-alone commute trips. I work with employers to develop, implement, and evaluate workplace commute options programs. I specialize in behavior change and social marketing techniques. I am also a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Master Recycler, and have completed a Project Management Certificate at Portland State University.In addition, I have almost four years of experience working in recycling and waste reduction in local government, including two terms of service as an AmeriCorps member, where I educated community members on recycling, food waste prevention, and toxics reduction though presentations, event tabling, and door-to-door outreach.I also have two years of work experience in the development and optimization of a first-of-its-kind proton therapy system for cancer treatment. The clinical system I helped commission has been successfully treating cancer patients since 2013.I have earned a Master of Science in sustainability as well as a Bachelor of Science in physics. Highlights of my educational career include traveling to the Hawaiian island of Lanai to assess the environmental impact of their infrastructure systems, publishing undergraduate research on a novel battery charger, and giving a presentation at a national research conference.
