• Consulted with the English language team to improve instructors’ English levels, dynamic teaching methods, and creative use of resources in the classroom• Liaised with school leadership and other community members to increase understanding of program goals and gain support for new after-school programs• Led the local chapter of Girls Leading Our World (GLOW), which focused on increasing self-esteem, empowerment, and education for teen girls in rural Colombiao Designed workshops, secured local counterparts and support, engaged participants and their families in the program, and completed formative evaluations of the project’s progress • Built and strengthened partnerships with NGOs, the local university, and other schools to develop and promote youth development initiatives in leadership, English, and cultural preservation• Worked on PC Colombia’s Gender Equity Committee to cultivate active conversations around gender issues, and developed programming to address volunteer concerns regarding gender discrimination, harassment, and ways to incorporate gender equity into our education projects
