Aspiring future educator who has experience as a reading coach with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry. Working on an Associate's degree focused in Secondary Education and Teaching from Georgia State University Perimeter College. Also a beginner learner of Japanese. I originally started learning in April just a few months before I graduated and learning the Japanese language has honestly been one of the most challenging things I've done thus far in my life. Finding the time to study while juggling work and school becomes overwhelming at times, not to mention trying to incorporate the numerous ways I've learned that would help me become more fluent. There have been times when I felt that I was never going to be able to understand the phrases and words being said. However, I'm encouraged more now than ever to keep pushing through to become a fluent speaker. Though I already knew that I wanted to get a degree in education and become a teacher, I never thought about teaching in Japan. But, the more I thought about the idea of teaching abroad and did some research on it I found myself getting more and more excited about the idea of it . I started watching videos of people who lived and taught in japan which furthered my thinking of actually doing it. Throughout this process, one of the biggest things I learned is that nothing is truly impossible as long as you’re willing to put in the time to work on it. That’s why I decided that starting now I would practice learning Japanese while in college getting my degree in education, hopefully getting to visit Japan during the process. After graduating college I plan on teaching in America while also applying for the JET program which will allow me to achieve both me becoming a fluent Japanese speaker and my goal of becoming a teacher in Japan.
