I appreciate that you took the time to check out my profile! Hopefully after reading through my brief summary you’ll have a better sense of who I am and why I do what I do.I have always loved learning – whether it was reading the Boxcar Children series, dissecting frogs on the computer, or more hands-on learning, like watching a good friend of the family deliver piglets in the wee hours of the morning! After great experiences in Middle School and High School in Denver, I set out to challenge myself academically by studying Chemistry at MidAmerica Nazarene University. After college graduation, I decided to take what I thought would be a short hiatus away from the sciences by moving to Boston to work at a small Liberal Arts college; little did I know I would fall in love with higher education and the important role it can play in many peoples’ lives. And I haven’t looked back sense!Upon completing my Master’s degree in Higher Education Enrollment Management I found myself at a wonderful small-business in the Kansas City area where my knowledge and expertise could be put to good use! I’ve been with Get Smarter Prep since the beginning of 2012 and have been fortunate enough to guide the organization since August of 2015. Two of my favorite parts about working within a small business are 1. the way in which no two days are ever the same and 2. the opportunity to have an immediate impact within the community. I tend to think of myself as a jack of many trades – so I feel as though I’m able to use my various skills to the benefit of the organization. The latter provides me with the opportunity to help students, families, and schools better understand the college process and make the best decisions for their unique situation!I’m fortunate to be married to Molly, a gifted musician and expert in her field. We love sneaking away on beach vacations, dinner out with friends, and exploring the many adventures that make up Kansas City.
