- Secretary for the Greening Vermillion Board of Directors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Vermillion, South Dakota focused on making Vermillion the "greenest town in South Dakota"- Organize and market Vermillion Earth Days, a week-long campaign of community outreach and education centered on environmental issues and sustainability- Actively advocating for the creation of a Sustainability Commission within the City of Vermillion - Promote Vermillion's recycling program through the development and dispersal of promotional and educational materials- Coordinate Greening Vermillion's Adopt-A-Drain program, an educational campaign focused on bringing awareness to the impact of polluted stormwater on local water bodies

- Conducted a national analysis of energy and water benchmarking policies, as well as building performance standards, assessing their impact on multifamily affordable housing- Supported the planning and execution of a workshop focused on enhancing sustainability practices within affordable housing portfolios

- Monitor, track, and summarize legislation pertaining to environmental affairs from state legislatures across the country- Initially a summer intern at the nation’s largest state and local government affairs company. - Assisted in the company’s state regulatory and legislative divisions, specifically in relation to energy and environmental policy. - Tracked developing legislation and the monitoring of regulatory rulemaking pertaining to energy and the environment across all fifty states and the District of Columbia. - Located states with friendly legislation toward wind energy development and with potential locations for new wind farms. - Updated a report on the requirements for electric utilities’ green energy plans in each state and the District of Columbia.

- National Athlete Representative for the governing body of the sport in the United States overseeing the budget, Olympic Games staff appointments, meet regulations, stroke requirements, and more. - Vote on proposed legislation at USA Swimming’s House of Delegates meetings.- Currently on my second term as an athlete representative to the National Age Group Development Committee, which focuses on providing greater athletic and personal developmental opportunities for USA Swimming’s younger members (14 and under). My work on this committee has centered around the implementation of the 12-and-under tech suit ban legislation, the creation of the American Development Model, and the institutionalization of a new type of swim meet called developmental competitions—shorter, more compact meets intended to be more enjoyable for young athletes and their parents/spectators.

- Served one year as a member of USA Swimming’s Rules and Regulations Committee, which reviews proposed legislation to ensure its compliance and consistency with USA Swimming’s current governing documents.

- Coached all of Mitchell's practice groups, totaling roughly 70 kids, ranging from six-year-olds just learning to swim to Sectionals-level swimmers who will likely be future Division 1 athletes- Wrote all practices for the team

- Researched historical records on Lake Mitchell and methods to sustainably address its water quality issues. - Created a webpage on the City’s website with my research findings that will be used in an upcoming public education campaign to increase support for dredging the lake (necessary to address water quality).- Awarded USD’s Undergraduate Research Excellence Award for my work. - Edited budgeting spreadsheets; wrote and proofread documents; and did other, general office work under the City Manager.

- 2021, managed a staff of approximately 35 young persons to ensure the successful operation of the Mitchell Aquatic Center and the positive experience of patrons.- 2016-2021, ensured a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all patrons at Mitchell’s indoor and outdoor aquatic centers. - 2017-2021, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, wrote and followed lesson plans to develop proper stroke techniques and swim endurance for kids ranging in age from 5 to 15.

- Volunteered with Farmlink weekly as a researcher of online databases and the internet at large to find the contact information of potential farms with surplus produce. - Farmlink would contact the farms about purchasing the excess produce to be donated to food pantries across the nation. Through my work, I located tens of thousands of pounds of food that would have otherwise gone to waste that instead helped alleviate food insecurity nationwide.

- Used social media to encourage students and teachers to incorporate discussions of climate change and environmental justice into course curriculum. - Collaborated with over 100 students from around the - Helped lead the writing of the program’s weekly newsletter, which went out to nearly 1,000 educators, students, and activists. - Helped organize and facilitate USD’s first two climate justice teach-ins. The most recent teach-in reached over 30 faculty members and more than 50 students.

- Athlete representative to the governing body of the sport for the state overseeing the budget, meet schedules, championship meets, and more. - Provided an athlete vote and insight on SD Swimming decisions and discussions and lobbied for athlete interests. - Authored multiple pieces of legislation from increasing facility standards for State Meet hosts to combining the 15-16 and 17-19 age groups to improve competition- Organized the first-ever SD Swimming Leadership Summit. - Led the athlete committee senior year, wherein I hosted bi-weekly athlete committee meetings, supported others in advancing their legislation and objectives, and promoted transparency between the committee and the rest of SD’s swimmers through social media and direct communication with clubs.
