Hello everyone, my name is Caleb Josiah Nelson, an inspirational and academic leader of mentoring minds for our upcoming generation. I’m in my senior year at Texas A&M Corpus Christi University and will be graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science degree majoring in Kinesiology Spring 2024. I'm passionate about exploring new challenges and opportunities. I’ve gained my experience by working in the education field as a substitute teacher, being a part of Temple of Praise young men group, and coaching AAU track and field. Since graduating from high school, I’ve strengthened my skills to become an “Educator” by inspiring young leaders. Having the confidence of ensuring that my career goal as a teacher and coach will set the horizon as a product leader in our educational field. Recently, I've achieved a certificate from Texas A&M Corpus Christi Dean’s List for the Fall of 2023, another personal achievement that shows I will stand by my motto by “Helping Students to Help Themselves.”I’ve always had a passion for teaching since I was a child. I would often find myself teaching my friends and younger siblings the things that I had learned in my previous grade levels, whether it be a new song, a sport, or a subject in school. I’ve always enjoyed watching their faces light up when they understood and learned something new. As I grew older, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in teaching. I loved the idea of being able to help children and young adults develop their academic skills and knowledge as they grow to succeed. I also enjoyed summer challenges that comes up when using creative and engaging lesson plans that would keep students engaged and motivated. In addition to my love of teaching, I also have a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. I believe that all students, regardless of their background, should have access to a quality education and the opportunity to succeed. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive classroom where all students feel valued and supported. I’m excited to begin my journey towards becoming a teacher and gain the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students.
