Caleb Phillips is an 15 year Army Special Operations veteran who served as a Mortarman and Mortar Section Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division and as a Senior Engineer Sergeant on a Military Free Fall team in 5th Special Forces Group.Raised in North Carolina, Caleb enlisted in the US Army at age 17. Completing Infantry Basic Training and Airborne School he was assigned to 3rd Battalion 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. As a Paratrooper, he served in every assignment possible as a Mortarman, from ammunition bearer to Section Sergeant.After a deployment Iraq, he attended the Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course and was selected as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant. Over a year was spent training in the Special Forces Qualification Course, including demolition and construction training, SERE School, language training, and more.Assigned as the Senior Engineer Sergeant on a Military Free Fall team in 5th Special Forces Group, Caleb was sent to numerous schools focusing on the skills needed by his Special Forces Detachment. Over the course of five and half years on the Detachment Caleb deployed three times, conducting missions across the spectrum of unconventional warfare, from direct action raids with a partner force in the deep desert to meeting with local and regional officials in order to negotiate on behalf of the United States Army.After leaving the Detachment Caleb become the Group Equal Opportunity Advisor, a direct advisor to the Group Commander (COL/06/Executive). Caleb's duties involved personnel issues, mediation and served as a subject matter expert on inter personnel conflicts.Caleb is also served as Green Beret in 19th Special Forces Group (A) as a Senior Engineer Sergeant on a Special Forces ODA.Caleb is currently a contractor working for IMEF Expeditonary Operations Training Group as a Counter UAS SME. His alternate duties include marksmanship and tactics instruction.
