I have worked at Lake Placid lodge on a part time basis for almost a decade. I have experience in top level relais chateau hospitality in many departments, from grounds, front desk, F and B ( both as a server and sommelier) My duties during this time include floor sales, inventory management, staff training, product selection and wine list expansion. I currently work during the summer, when I am home from my other job, coaching the olympic skeleton team during the winter.

I joined the Greenbrier team in the spring of 2014 as the Sommelier in Prime 44 west. My job includes sales, wine list expansion, inventory management, cost controls, staff training and everything else that comes with a large scale (appx 800 room) luxury resort.

Worldwide

I joined the Australian Olympic Skeleton Team as a technical coach in the sport of skeleton during the lead up to and throughout the 2014 Sochi Olympics. My duties were varied including team management,high performance model creation, technical coaching, biomechanical/start analysis, equipment design/experimentation to name a few. I have since moved on the from the Australian program and am currently searching for new opportunities in this realm.

Shortly following my retirement as an athlete on the USA National Skeleton Team, I was offered the head coaching position with the Italian Skeleton Team. This fit perfectly into my pursuit of my wine passion as I could spend time doing both things I love..skeleton and wine. My job was varied, as most leadership positions are, ranging from team management (organizing all logistics of a worldwide tour), high performance model creation, race strategy, strategic alliances, technical coaching, and equipment development. With the financial troubles in Europe at the time I left the position to join the Australian Olympic Skeleton Team as assistant coach. It was a wonderful first experience in the coaching world as it challenged me on many levels, including language and communication.

A wonderful experience which transitioned me from one passion ( my athletic career in the sport of skeleton) to another ( my love of wine). I worked both in the vineyard and winery throughout the 2011 Harvest gaining experience in multiple areas of vineyard operation including viticulture,vinification,business,shipping and receiving and client entertainment. After this position I moved into my head coaching duties for the Italian Olympic Skeleton Team.

During this time I was a USA National Skeleton Team athlete travelling the world representing USA. I also self taught my undergraduate degree while working and training full time to pursue my Olympic dreams. As an athlete in a low visibility sport, marketing oneself requires creativity, time management an strong interpersonal skills. Juggling a full time job, full time training and education was always a challenge, but it developed me into who I am today. In the sport I won US National Championships, earned a silver and bronze medal in junior world championships as well as a world cup silver medal. My top result in world championships was 12th place in St Moritz Switzerland.

My first foray in between my experience as a server and the world of a sommelier. I focused on floor sales, inventory management and assisting in wine list development.

Nationwide

As a top ranked skeleton athlete, I worked in the various home depot stores as part of their sponsorship of the USOC, where Olympic athletes would work in various stores around the country on a part time basis and be supported year round during the competitive season. I worked primarily in the paint department.

My first experience in fine dining at a Relais Chateau property. This was my primary job during the summer to support myself as an athlete on the US National Skeleton Team during the winter months. It was also where I disocvered my passion for fine wine.
