I am the Divisional Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Health Policy and Regulatory Affairs at UPMC Health Plan, part of the UPMC Insurance Services Division. I oversee the provision of legal services for UPMC Health Plan’s Commercial insurance products as well as our technology and IT-related contracting. In addition to managing our in-house legal team’s provision of these services, my advocacy work is focused on the interaction between governmental health policy and the application of regulatory constructs to health coverage products and all aspects of plan operations. My policy portfolio includes Medicare (UPMC for Life), Medicaid (UPMC for You), Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (UPMC Community HealthChoices), the Children’s Health Insurance Program (UPMC for Kids), and the many other insurance products offered at UPMC Health Plan.Health care is as complicated as it is personal.
