This internship was focused in the area of poultry production and processing. Within the processing plant, the opportunity was given to supervise production lines while also rotating through all departments. While interning, I formulated two waste management projects that could save the plant over $75,000 in revenue. Additionally, an added ergonomic project was formulated that can decrease workplace shoulder injuries in the plant.

This position included rotations in poultry live production and processing. Experience with broiler and breeder farms was acquired during this internship. The last department rotation was spent with the accounting team. Basic knowledge on the accounting process for the poultry complex was acquired.

During the internship, responsibilities included conducting agricultural business research across the north island of New Zealand. After completing the research, I formulated a report to discuss how the different agricultural industries operate and compare economically to the United States.
