Caleb Smith is a senior undergraduate student at Oglethorpe University, pursuing his B.A. in Film & Media Studies, with a minor in Theatre Arts. In his senior year, he was accepted to study abroad in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom at the University of Oxford. His chosen subjects of study were African American Representation in Media and the Intricacies of Screenwriting, finishing with a 4.0 GPA from the program. Throughout his studies and freelance work, Caleb has strengthened his skills in cinematography, video editing, photography, social media management and strategy, journalism, graphic design, screenwriting. His experience in videography, social media and acting has led him to confidently create content in each of these sectors, behind and in front of the camera. His other interests lie within music production and public speaking. He has earned the title of the 2018 Optimist International Oratorical World Champion for his work in poetry and creative writing. Outside of this, Caleb has worked very closely with influential figures in his community. Aiming to improve police and citizen relations, Caleb has worked on the Mayor's Youth Council alongside Mayor John Tecklenburg to improve the lives of citizens in marginalized communities in Charleston, South Carolina. His foundation of work positivity impacts the lives of others through his creative works and talents. He is seeking a place of work that also values this method of paying it forward and believes video and social media to be a place for fundamental change.
