This role on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee serves to reinforce certain DE&I practices in our Introduction to Business classrooms by leading workshops hosted for all Peer Leaders and Staff Instructors. We also review class topics and lessons concerning DE&I and adjust any teaching materials as necessary. This committee also takes an active effort to review the Peer Leader application process to eliminate any biases and promote equitable recruitment. Perhaps the most important responsibility of this role is to assist in hosting the Human Library. This DE&I event, open to all freshman business students, takes place once a semester and highlights unique life stories from a variety of volunteers referred to as 'Books.' This event serves to expand students' worldview and promote empathetic listening to others with different backgrounds.
