I recently completed my Master of Divinity at Union Theological Seminary in NYC while working for International Rescue Committee. Further, I recently completed a Chaplain Residency at Bellevue Hospital in NYC. All views expressed are my own. Additionally, I was a Yenching Scholar at Peking University in Beijing, completing my Master’s in China Studies thesis on international data law (in English). At Yenching Academy, I served as Co-Chair of the 4th Annual Yenching Global Symposium, Wǒmen: Retelling the China Stories, which focused on the intersection of gender studies and China. I was a Gilman Scholar, inaugural fellow with the U.S.-China Initiative Student Fellows Program at Georgetown, UW Husky Presidential Ambassador to Tsinghua University in Beijing, Leadership Fellow with former U.S. Senator Slade Gorton, delegate at the Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford, fellow with the Hansen Summer Institute for Leadership and Cooperation, and delegate at the US-China Coalition at Princeton’s Global Governance Conference (pending post-COVID-19). About me, I overcame various socioeconomic barriers to start college at sixteen through Running Start and by eighteen officially represented youth in state government with the Washington State Legislative Youth Advisory Council, successfully lobbying several bills into law. Academically, I maintained a 3.92 GPA, completed three undergraduate theses, graduated Phi Beta Kappa, College Honors (both interdisciplinary and departmental honors), and graduated magna cum laude (top 3.5% of class) from the University of Washington. Personally, I enjoy running (completing my 2016 New Year's Resolution by running over 1,000 kilometers), biking, olympic barbell lifting, pretending to understand the nuances of coffee, and learning with people from around the world.
