Whilst working at Grant Thornton I was taught about the audit process and got first-hand experience in completing lead sheets and using the audit software used at the firm which greatly improved my understanding of audit and my overall computer literacy. Additionally, I attended talks from the forensics team and learnt a great deal surrounding the forensic process used at Grant Thornton.

During my tenure at Al Tamimi & Company I worked with the team handling all expense claims filed by the Lawyers operating at the company. This involved; approving or denying the claims, calculating the VAT paid and constructing an Excel spreadsheet to store information on all the claims. This helped further develop my Excel skills and gave me a strong overview of expenses procedures at a large corporation. Additionally, I shadowed the sales team working within the company to review their commission and chargeable hours. This gave me an insight into legal processes, timesheets and the record keeping required.
