Laboratory Analyst in the Inorganic Chemistry department. The role involves the preparation and analysis of samples, using colourimetric, gravimetric and automated analysis.Key Accountabilities:• Analysing samples within a defined area to meet UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service), Environment Agency and DWI (Drinking Water Inspectorate) standards and relevant H&S Standard.• Carrying out basic maintenance of analytical equipment.• Producing, recording, maintaining and verifying data within a highly regulated UKAS accredited Laboratory. This will involve running a variety of automated and manual Lab techniques, relevant to the water industry.• Working in a highly regulated environment, giving excellent customer service to everyone you meet.• Working with quality management systems to ISO 17025 and automated data handling.

Tier 2 Contact Tracer: NHS COVID-19 Test & Trace Programme.Conducted outbound calls on behalf of Agilisys, in association with Kent County Council, to collect information from positive cases of coronavirus. Collated data using the NHS T&T web tool, as developed to support the PHE component of the DHSC-led Test & Trace programme. Handled cases escalated from Tier 3 contact tracers.Key Accomplishments:• Assist 60+ cases per day, providing additional support in a polite manner using active listening to ensure case satisfaction.• Exercised service knowledge to assist customers with concerns, questions, and general enquiries; channel shifting where appropriate.• Trained in managing delicate call matters and use of privacy protection.

Perform UKAS accredited methodologies to extract and test for various inorganic compounds in soil, water, and leachate samples. Utilising and maintaining Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Continuous Flow Analysis (CFA) instrumentation in order to attain results. Data management via Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Excel. Train, mentor, and develop new technicians to carry out sample extraction and testing. Ensure effective processing and testing of samples in accordance with company’s five-day turnaround policy. Collaborate with admin, sample-preparation, technicians, and other analysts to meet daily targets. Assume First Aider and Mental Health First Aider roles; executing first aid, stock management, and incident reporting as necessary.

Extracted and tested for various inorganic compounds in soil, water, and leachate samples by carrying out UKAS accredited methodologies. Handled and disposed of hazardous materials.
