Within the role of Kitchen Assistant I was responsible for upholding the extremely high standards of hygiene within the kitchen, whilst also undertaking food preparation and the cooking of food within a very busy kitchen. This fast-paced environment placed extreme importance on being able to work quickly and efficiently, whilst all the while maintaining professional standards.Secondly, my role as part of the bar staff gave me an opportunity to experience front of house customer service, dealing with the responsibilities of a very popular bar such as it's upkeep and the service to our customers. Additionally, I was part of the team responsible for table service, which gave opportunity to interact positively and professionally with a range of customers, whilst also giving me experience in dealing with customer complaints. This bolstered my communication skills immensely, as well as gave me the chance to work efficiently within part of a team, using a customer-focused approach to uphold the reputation of the very busy gastropub.

Gained experience into the activities of a number of departments within the Nottinghamshire healthcare trust, including the 'Support in Work Team' and the 'Involvement Centre', whereby the emphasis was on mental healthcare and recovery. I mainly undertook an observatory/information-seeking role in order to expand my knowledge of a psychology-based workplace; though there were several group tasks, whereby I would participate in, as an assistant to the healthcare consultant.Here I also had the opportunity to take part in discussions at a conference involving senior staff from many of the trust's departments. This focused around the staff employment process and what could be improved upon, and this invaluable insight into NHS employment would give me some knowledge of the foundations of this process, as well as giving me another opportunity to improve my problem-solving capabilities, whilst maintaining an ethical approach.
