Enthusiastic and diligent with a passion for problem solving and technology. I have four years of digital forensics experience and two year of cyber incident response experience. I have used a variety of industry leading and open source tools to produce high quality technical reports for criminal cases and investigate and respond to cyber incidents from both a law enforcement and private sector perspective.My investigative mindset and skills were developed as Detective Constable within the Digital Forensics and Cybercrime Investigations departments within the Police Service of Scotland. During my time as a Detective I conducted investigations into various forms of complex cybercrime including ransomware, network intrusion, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, intellectual property theft, criminal use of the darkweb, and child abuse and exploitation. These investigations allowed me to apply the knowledge I had gained in training courses as well as the opportunity to research and expand my understanding of unfamiliar technical concepts to ensure that evidence gained could be practically applied to investigations and cases.I have provided expert witness testimony in a number of criminal court cases and continue to do so, offering an explanation of technical concepts at an appropriate level and ensuring that evidential data and its relevance to the case is presented clearly.I am keen to continually develop my skills and have proactively studied with Edinburgh Napier University, the Open University, the Digital Data Skills Academy, HackTheBox Academy and The International Information System Security Certification Consortium in my own time to expand my technical knowledge and abilities.
