- 12-week internship within a medium-sized biotechnology and gene therapy company based in London, as part of the 2021 Entrepreneurial Scotland Saltire Scholar programme.- Worked as part of a team of high-calibre scientists to deliver improvement projects within the manufacturing department. - Completed several issue investigations within the manufacturing department. This involved conducting interviews with the relevant experts, presenting findings to the Quality Assurance team, and developing corrective and preventative action plans. - Led the planning and risk assessment stages of a long-term project to upgrade the GMP manufacturing facility gowning area. This included presenting proposed changes to the senior management team.- Completed several material impact assessments for new materials to be used in the manufacturing process. This involved working closely with the Supply Chain and Quality Control teams, as well as external manufacturers and suppliers, to ensure the materials were safe and available for use.- Observed and took part in several manufacturing and Quality Control laboratory and clean room activities including cell passage and viability assays.
