Worked on the Chassis Sustainability team. Two main projects:- Multi-spindle Nut Runner: - Designed and constructed a tool that synchronously removes and then re-inserts all five lug nuts from a wheel in under fifteen seconds. Independent impact wrenches automatically stop when optimal torque is achieved in each associated lug nut. - Built custom magnetic spring sockets that ensure all sockets seat securely on lug nuts independent of the socket to lug nut initial orientation.- Root cause analysis of failing part: - Traveled to high failure region. Conducted DSC, FTIR, TGA, Karl Fisher, and Crackle tests on the grease from field returned samples. Combining these test results with CT scans of the rubber ball joint boots and inspection of the boot under a microscope I discovered the root cause of failure and proposed a design change.

SSCP is an engineering team that competes in the World Solar Car Challenge. - Designed suspension knuckle that connects all suspension elements to the wheel and motor. Utilized Generative Design and FEA to inform design approach. Worked with manufacturers to arrive at an easily manufacturable part.- Designed aerodynamic wheel shroud. Used Fusion Modal Analysis and FEA simulations to ensure part won’t interfere with other suspension elements during any maneuvers or as a result of vibration caused by the road and motors.
