With every student that has come under my care and in every classroom I’ve instructed within, the responsibility of a teacher has become clearer. That is one of making a difference, a positive change to that person’s life and prospects, to bring them a step further on their journey. Making the transition from instructor to leader, and then ultimately director has allowed me to understand how the end-users’ learning styles, needs and educational cultures are reflected in the systems that guide them and the material that is created to assess their linguistic development.I made this transition because I felt with a passion that there is a right way to educate those who ask for help and guidance; not only to provide an appropriate sympathetic environment for those individuals, but also to embrace the wide range of technologies and media to deliver that help. Now I’m looking for a challenge that lies at the heart of this industry, to make a fundamental and positive change to the ELT community.
