Adaptability is important in the work place, especially when taking a new position. After the Complex Director in my residence hall was offered a job at another university mid-semester, I was offered the job of Community Coordinator. I would be working with my previous supervisors as an equal. Within two weeks of learning of the opening, I was hired and started in the new position. While I had been an RA for 2.5 years, the role of Community Coordinator was still new to the university and the responsibilities were new to me. I was given a good starting point with the training, but I had to figure out what how to work in the new position. I learned a lot from that and continued it on into my next year as an Assistant Complex Director. With that position, every week something new was happening that I had to adapt to, and I took it in stride. Adaptability is key whether you are starting a new position, or a new project. You never know what may come your way.
