Learned valuable communication skills while working on-site, in the lab, or in the office. I performed a large variety of soil mechanics tests in the lab which helped me become more detail-oriented. Over the course of one summer, I gained valuable experience working in the landscape industry. Not only did it teach me the value of hard work. I also had the opportunity to learn transferable skills such as machine operation, soil compaction, and professional communication. Working here also taught me that I enjoy to work outside and seeing a site progress through its stages. I look forward to using the skills I learned from this job not only in my future career but also in my daily life.

Working in retail gave me insight into the different aspects that make up the industry. Being that this is a smaller company I had the opportunity to learn about, and experience many different tasks. My job included sales (in person and over the phone), inventory management, shipping and receiving products, and store maintenance. This variety of tasks allowed me to develop new skills a=that would be easily transferred across different industries and jobs.
